Temperature

Normal room temperature, can tolerate 50-90°F

Water

Bromeliads do not have deep root systems, and do not like to be overwatered. Water the plant through the vase formed by the leaves at the center of the plant, change water once a week to prevent rotting.

Humidity

Bromeliads like humid environments. Mist leaves once a week with cool water.

Flowering

Will only flower once in a lifetime, but lasts months. These easy to grow plants do, however, shoot off new plants called “pups”. Pups can be divided from the mother once they have reached half the size of the mother plant.

Repotting

Since the mother plant does not reflower, when the pup plant grows to be half the size of the mother, divide the plants and repot them. Use a pot with drainage holes and a well-draining potting soil.
