Seasonal Cashier
Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle transactions accurately. As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers have a positive shopping experience while efficiently processing their purchases.Duties- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and assisting with their inquiries.
- Upsell products and promotions to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring that stock is replenished as needed.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Experience- Previous experience in a customer service position and in providing positive customer experiences.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math skills are advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.

Reports to the Garden Center Sales Coordinator
- Provide the highest level of customer service to the Farm customers
- Competence in knowing which Farm personnel are needed to assist with customer issues
- Assist customers to their cars helping to unload merchandise when possible
- Maintain boxes, bags and plastic liner rolls for customers packaging
- Remove garbage bags when full and refill. Pick up plastic recyclable container and stack in back inventory area
- Keep selling carts and parking lot neat, organized and stocked
- Assist Merchandiser with setting up displays of merchandise and plants
- Resolve all customer complaints and problems efficiently ensuring client satisfaction
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Starting salary: $16/hour
