Bromeliads do not have deep root systems, and do not like to be overwatered. Water the plant through the vase formed by the leaves at the center of the plant, change water once a week to prevent rotting.
Bromeliads like humid environments. Mist leaves once a week with cool water.
Will only flower once in a lifetime, but lasts months. These easy to grow plants do, however, shoot off new plants called “pups”. Pups can be divided from the mother once they have reached half the size of the mother plant.
Since the mother plant does not reflower, when the pup plant grows to be half the size of the mother, divide the plants and repot them. Use a pot with drainage holes and a well-draining potting soil.
